Norman W. Hermanson, 93, of Rollinsford, NH died on June 19, 2005 after a period of failing health. Mr. Hermanson was born in Berlin, NH on April 4, 1912, the son of William and Ragna (Johnson) Hermanson. He was a graduate of Berlin High School and attended business college in New York City. He returned to Berlin to work for his father who was a logging contractor. He later was employed by Brown Company at the administrative office and retired in 1975 as a Purchasing Agent. In 1939 he was married to Ruth Dorothy Smith of Newton, MA at St. Paul Lutheran in Berlin. Mr. Hermanson was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served the church in many capacities through the years. He was a council member, Sunday school superintendent, teacher of adults and children and was a delegate to national conferences. He served and assisted in churches in Littleton and Lancaster and presented the sermon at St. Paul Lutheran Church on many occasions. He was a 50 year member of the Gorham Sabatis Lodge No. 73 F & AM. Also was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Lancaster and Littleton. Mr. Hermanson enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, flower gardening and painted pictures, some of which were on exhibit. He regularly visited friends at local nursing homes. In 1997 he and his wife moved to Rollinsford, NH to live with their daughter Christina and granddaughter Victoria. The family includes his wife of 65 years, Ruth, daughter Christina Hermanson-Reishus, granddaughter, Victoria Reishus, grandson William Reishus, his wife Corinna and great-granddaughter, Alexis of Chester NH, a niece, nephews and cousins. There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday July 16, 2005 at 2 PM. Interment will follow in the New City Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 101 Norway St., Berlin, NH 03570. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin.
