Mr. Oscar H. Hansen, 91, of 664 First Avenue, Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2006 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. Mr. Hansen was born in Berlin, NH on August 6, 1914 the son of Oscar and Annie (McCaffrey) Hansen and was a lifelong resident. He was a US Army veteran of WW II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement in 1978, he worked for Brown Company. He was a member of St. Kieran Church now known as Good Shepherd Parish a life time member of the Ryan-Scammon Post #36 American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Members of his family include his wife Lena (Arsenault) Hansen of Berlin, NH; one son Oscar Hansen and his wife Patricia of Holliston, MA; three grandchildren Kirsten Garofalo, Erik Hansen and Michael Hansen all of Massachusetts; six great grandchildren; one sister Kathleen Hansen of Portsmouth, NH; one niece Gloria Marsh; and two nephews Norman Hanson and Stephen Hanson; brother-in-law Henry Aresnault and wife Pierina, 2 sisters-in-law Jeanne Paulin and Sister Lorraine Arsenault. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother Norman Hanson. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated on Saturday February 11, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery in Berlin, NH. Donations in his memory may be made to the Berlin Health Dept. Nursing Program, City Hall, Main St., Berlin, NH, 03570.
