Patricia S. Bernier

Patricia S. Bernier, 82, of Gorham, passed away at her home on November 13, 2023 after a period of failing health.  She was born in Zanesville, OH on September 23, 1941 the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel Sterling.  She grew up in Ohio and graduated Frazeysburg High School Class of 1959 and soon after moved to New Hampshire with her future husband Darrell.  They got married September 3, 1960 and resided in Gorham the vast majority of their marriage.  For many years she worked alongside her husband operating The Vac Shop and The Pizza Shop in Gorham.  She enjoyed taking walks throughout Gorham and took great pride in her home. 

She is survived by her children Jacqueline Pearson of Randolph, NH, Timothy Bernier and wife Alison of Gorham and Brandon Bernier and wife Kari of Dyersburg, TN; grandchildren: Nathaniel Bernier of Dyersburg, TN, Emily Simpson and husband Stephen of Nashville, TN, Abbie Bernier of Gorham, Emma Bernier of Gorham as well as two grandchildren that remain in her heart; siblings: Joyce Burchett of Zanesville, OH, Hazel (Russell) Sensibaugh of Utica, OH, Cathy (Mike) Evans of Utica, OH, Bill (Kathy) Sterling of Frazeysburg, OH and Fred (Linda) Sterling of Nashport, OH; sister-in-law Betty Sterling of Dresden, OH numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her husband of 50+ years Darrell Bernier, son-in-law Chuck Pearson, granddaughter Caitlin Bernier, brothers Larry Sterling and Jay Sterling and a brother-in-law Charlie Burchett. 

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the numerous nurses, aides and caregivers for their­­ loving care of Patricia during the last few months, allowing her to remain in the comfort of her home. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 1pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham with interment following at Holy Family Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to call from 11am to 1pm prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the North Country Home Health & Hospice Agency, 536 Cottage St., Littleton, NH 03561 (nchhha.org).  Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net. ­
