Mr. Raymond C. Lodar, 76, of 20 Madison Avenue in Gorham passed away on Friday May 27, 2005 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born on December 2, 1928 in Rochester, NY the son of Adam and Anna (Sypniewski) Wlodarski and has lived in Gorham since 1970. Mr. Lodar was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a survivor of the ship USS Moalle. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Mt. Washington Auto Road, Rousseaus IGA and Butsons Supermarket, an Auxiliary Sgt. for the Gorham Police Department as well as a Dispatcher for the Town of Gorham. He was a member of the Holy Family Church in Gorham, Gorham Sabatis Lodge F & AM, Bektash Shrine Temple, VFW Post 2520, American Legion Post 82 in Gorham, Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree. He was active in Theatre North, loved playing the organ, fishing, made buttons and badges and loved to cook. Members of his family include his wife Mary Ellen (Forsythe) Lodar of Gorham; two sons Kenneth Lodar and Ronald Lodar both of Rochester, NY; one grandson Adam Lodar of Rochester, NY; one granddaughter Justine of Rochester, NY; one sister Joan Coffey of Rochester, NY; two brothers Robert Wlodarski of Chicago, IL and Edward Wlodarski of Rochester, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre deceased by a son Raymond C. Lodar Jr. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated on Wednesday June 1, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham. Interment will be in the Lary Cemetery in Gorham. Relatives and Friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street in Gorham, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to the Relay For Life through the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building 360 State Route 101 Suite 501 Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
