Rebecca E. "Becky" Mullins

d. August 11, 2010

Becky Mullins passed away quietly on the evening of August 11, 2010 at her home in West Milan surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire on April 21, 1943 to Winston and Margaret (French) Emery. She was raised on their dairy farm in West Milan and was a life long resident of the town. She married Walter Mullins on November 11, 1962 and together they raised three children. Becky enjoyed farming and raised beef and dairy cattle while also gardening, cooking, canning and taking care of her family. She took pride in the fact that most meals, including the butter, came directly from the farm. She was always ready to help someone in need. She took care of many elderly residents of the town, often delivering warm meals. Anyone was welcome at the table especially on holidays. Above all, her greatest love was of children. To most children who spent time with her, she was known affectionately as mom. She never ran out of ideas to make a childs world magical. From warm gingerbread men that really ran away only to be discovered hiding in a closet, to treasure hunts that took them through fields and woods where there was always excitement along the way. Her flock of sheep provided an endless supply of wool for childrens mittens. They could choose a pair from those always on hand, make a special request for bumble bee mittens, match their new jacket, or any combination of colors. If she was sitting, she usually had knitting needles in her hands. Becky leaves her children Martha Glover and her husband Robert, Andrew Mullins and his wife Lay, and Mary Tichy and her husband Ted, all of West Milan along with her grandchildren Mary Glover, William Glover, Sheinalee Glover, Jonathan Mullins, Anthony Mullins, Samantha Mullins, Alexandria Tichy, and Jessie Tichy. She also leaves a brother John Emery and his wife Katherine of Chesterville, Maine and a sister Sarah Cordwell and her husband Eugene of West Dummer, New Hampshire; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Walter Mullins on November 10, 2003. The family of Walter and Becky Mullins extends an invitation to all friends and relatives to join with them on September 18, 2010 at their long time residence in West Milan from 1:00 to 5:00 PM to share the fond memories of a life time of happiness. Donations will be collected by Martha Glover at 20 Chesley Road, Milan, NH 03588. They will be forwarded to the Barry Conservation Camp in honor of her many years of dedication to the youth in 4-H. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home, Berlin.
