Mr. Rene A. Caouette, 86, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015 at Coos County Home after battling cancer.
Rene was born in Berlin on December 20, 1928, the son of Delpha and Melodia Caouette. Rene and his wife Pauline (Aube) Caouette resided on Rockingham Street most of their life.
He served in the U.S. Navy for three years. He then returned home before answering the call to serve his country in the Korean War. After his service, he married and worked at the Brown Paper Company and James River Corporation for 41 years. After retirement, his past times included gardening, walking and reminiscing about life in the Navy.
Rene was a devout Catholic and attended Mass at Guardian-Angel now known as Good Shepherd Parish.
He is survived by his wife Pauline, of 63 years, his three children: James & Carolyn (Morrissette) Caouette of Berlin, Louise (Caouette) & Don Morin of Manchester and Nancy (Caouette) and Leo Theroux of Pembroke. Rene is dearly loved by his eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Arthur, Wilfred, Oscar, Roland and Sister Irene Caouette
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, December 12 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to Coos County Nursing Home, Activity Fund, PO BOX 416, Berlin, NH 03570.
