Reno H. Martin, 92, passed away on December 23, 2010 after a long illness. He was born in Grand Isle, ME on July 9, 1918 to Henry and Leona (St. Germain) Martin. He lived in the Berlin-Gorham, NH area for over 60 years. He worked for the CCCs and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. He was a life-long member of the VFW. He was also a life-long fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was employed as an electrician for Brown Company and later James River Corp. in Berlin, NH, retiring in 1981. He was an active member of Local 75 from 1948 to 1956, serving in many roles such as Shop Steward, Chief Shop Steward, Grievance Board Member, Chairman of the Grievance Board and he served on the Negotiation team for 8 years. For seven years he resided at the Pines of Newmarket and later Riverside Rest Home in Dover, NH. He was married to the late Gaddie (McKenna) Martin. He is survived by a daughter Leona (Martin) Olivier and her husband Maurice of Dover, two grandsons Bryan Olivier and his wife Mary of Durham, NH, Mark Olivier and his wife Brenda of Center Conway, NH. Five great-grandchildren; Christopher, Laura, Emily, Trevor and Colby. One sister Jean Moylan of Hartford, CT, one brother Fr Norman Martin of the Philippines. Also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife in 1985, his parents, three brothers Rudolph, Gerard and George, two sisters Agatha Edwards and Theresa Theriault. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 11 AM at the Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will follow with full military honors at the Holy Family Cemetery.
