Richard E. "Sam" Garneau

Mr. Richard E. Sam Garneau, 72, of 199 Coos Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, VT. He was born in Berlin on March 5, 1933 the son of Edward B. and Eugenie (Rivest) Garneau and lived most of his life in Berlin. He was employed by Brown Company for 20 years. He later purchased Sams Variety Store which he owned and operated for 21 years with his wife Barbara (Ryder) Garneau, who predeceased him in 1995. His interests were traveling with his motor home, spending time with his family, tinkering in his garage and his happy job delivering flowers for Gills Flower Shop. Members of the family include his longtime companion Joan Halvorson; 3 sons Billy Garneau and his wife Sue of Berlin, Ricky Garneau and his wife Sue of Berlin and Jamie Garneau of Berlin; 1 daughter Debbie Peloquin and her husband Mike of Berlin; 7 grandchildren Peter, Sara, Krystal, Eddie, Jeremy, Angela and Christopher; 1 great grandchild Austin; 1 brother Robert L. Garneau of Shelburne, NH and Zephyrhills, FL; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 10, 2005 at 1:00 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin on Friday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
