Richard Paradis

Richard Paradis, 82, of Berlin, passed away on Friday October 26, 2012 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born in Cascade-Berlin on April 24, 1930 the son of Alphonse and Florette (Lafleur) Paradis and was a lifelong resident of the area. Richard had been employed in the Towel Room at Brown Company and James River Corporation and had been a call man for the Berlin Fire Department for 37 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the Fraternal Order of Eagles the Union Local 75 and loved riding his scooter. Members of the family include his wife Theresa (Pouliot) Paradis of Berlin; 2 daughters Debbie Blanchette of Berlin and Diane Paradis of Berlin; 4 grandchildren Sarah, Kayla, Connor and Lindsey; 2 sisters Doris Nicoletti of Berlin and Barbara Cavagnaro of Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Robert Paradis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday Oct. 31, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Health and Rehab Center Activities Fund or to the Parkinsons Association in his memory.
