Rita A. Croteau

Rita A. Croteau, 66, of Berlin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family following a long term illness on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at her home. She was born in Berlin on October 4, 1958 the daughter of the late Maurice and Blanche (Provencher) Lafrance and and lived in Berlin all of her life. She graduated from Berlin High School. After school she raised her children and worked at several area businesses before opening her own bakery, Fifth Avenue Whispers, which she operated for several years. Enjoyed going to the family camp in Franklin, fishing, hunting and playing horse shoes in her younger years, was a talented cake decorator, doing ceramics with her friend Ann. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Michael Croteau of Berlin; her children: Stephanie Norton and husband Chris of Milan, Melanie Croteau and companion David Mulinski of Berlin and Stacey Croteau and fiancé Scotty of Berlin; her grandchildren: Hayley Norton, Casey Norton and fiancé Eva Fortier; a sister Jeannette Rivard and husband Richard of Berlin; several nieces, nephews and good friends. 

Services will be held privately.  Arrangements are entrusted to Bryant Funeral Homes & Crematory, Berlin and Gorham.
