Robert R. Salvas

Berlin, NH

Robert R. Salvas of Berlin passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 15, 2017. He was 88 years old.

Born on September 16, 1928 in Berlin, NH he was the son of Thomas and Exilda (Cote) Salvas.

Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he earned various medals and service stars. Following his time in the service he worked for and retired from Brown Company.

He married Dora Gagnon and together they raised two children.

Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest joys were spending time with his family. He and Dora enjoyed spending their summer at their camper in Old Orchard Beach. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting. He could often be found working with his son Brian at Tire Connection, something he loved to do. In recent years he also enjoyed playing cards and going on Sunday outings with his dear friend Jeannette Roy and with Bob and Louise Dube.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his wife Dora who passed away in 1987 and several siblings; Edouard, Jeanne, Solange, Leo, Joseph, Victor, Emile, Florence, Yvette, Arthur, Simone, Fleurette and Aline.

He leaves behind his son Brian Salvas and wife Lisa of Berlin, NH; his daughter Linda Blanchette and husband Claude of Berlin, NH; grandchildren Brandee Pelletier and husband Phil, Brad Salvas and companion Shayna Fournier, Kevin Blanchette and wife Andrea, and Keith Blanchette; great-grandchildren Pierce Pelletier, Priscilla Pelletier, Leo Salvas, Chantal Blanchette and Luc Blanchette; Two sisters, Laurette Merrill and Cecile Bourque; he also leaves behind his dear friend Jeannette Roy and her children, Louise and Bob Dube, Rachel and Richard St. Croix, Ron and Laura Roy and Gary and Connie Roy. Several nieces and nephews.

Callings hours will be held prior to the service on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 10:30am until 12:30pm at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish at 1:00pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Interment will follow at St. Kierans Cemetery.
