Roland J. Donovan

Roland J. Donovan, 83, of Berlin, passed away on August 14, 2024 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare & Rehab Center in Berlin. He was born in Berlin, NH on May 4, 1941 the son of the late Robert Vincent and Evelyn Mary (Gemmiti) Donovan. Roland was a US Navy veteran and prior to his retirement he had been employed at the Groveton Paper Mill. In his younger days, he enjoyed weightlifting, hunting, fishing, both in the summer and in the winter months. He was an enthusiastic chess player. In his later years, he loved spending time with a close group of friends who he considered family.

He is survived by his chosen daughter Patty King of Berlin; siblings Roberta Fortier and her husband George of Berlin, Sandra Haskell of East Aurora, NY and Brenda Stephens of Springfield, MA; a sister-in- law Huguette Laflamme; nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren. He also had a very close group of friends, who were treasured. He was predeceased by his loving wife Lucille (Vezina) Donovan.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 10, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow in St. Kieran Cemetery.
