Mr. Roland P. Lagasse, 87, of 109 Washington St. in Berlin, passed away on Friday evening, February 19, 2010 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin. He was born in Berlin, NH on April 6, 1922 the son of Alfred and Ida (Pineau) Lagasse and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Berlin High School and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. Prior to his retirement in 1984 he was employed at Brown Co. and James River Corp in the bleachery. He was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and a life member of White Mountain Post 2520 of the VFW. He loved his grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and playing cards. He was very close to his wife and they were very devoted to each other. Members of his family include his son Normand P. Lagasse of Derry, NH; his daughter Nancy Rousseau and her husband Roger of Shelburne, NH; his grandchildren Normand Lagasse, Jr. of Keene, NH, Kathryn Rousseau and Megan Rousseau both of Shelburne, NH; a sister Jeannette Kluchnick of Gorham, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Irene M. (Frechette) Lagasse who passed away on June 17, 2005, a sister Eva LeBreton and a brother Lionel Lagasse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 23, 2010 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
