Roland R. Rivard, 73, of Clarendon Street passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, (August 4, 2010) at his home surrounded by his family.
A lifelong resident of Berlin, he was born on April 4, 1937 the son of Joseph and Simonne (Dussault) Rivard.
He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School Class of 1956.
In March of 1959, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany as a radio technician. He was honorably discharged in April 1962.
He was a longtime employee of the Brown Paper Company, retiring after 31 years of service.
Roland had many hobbies including trains and going for rides in the woods. He loved hockey and his favorite teams were the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
His parents Joseph & Simonne Rivard pre-deceased him.
He is survived by his fiancAC.e of 24 years Jeannette Viens of Berlin His three children Annette Mitchell and her fiancAC. Richard Gadbois, Jr Robert Rivard Ronald Rivard and his wife Bobbi and their two children Paige and Brandon all of Rochester, NH Two brothers Raymond Rivard and his wife Elaine of Gorham Richard Rivard and his wife Jeannette of Berlin
His fiancAC.e children: Richard &, Robert Laflamme both of Berlin and Paul Laflamme of Gorham Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Saturday, August 7, at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Burial will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery, Berlin.
