Roland W. Lambert, 78, of 25 Success St., Berlin, NH passed away on Saturday November 8, 2008. He was born in Berlin, NH on February 28, 1930, the son of Reny Arthur and Helen Dagmar (Johnson) Lambert and graduated from Berlin High School in 1948. He was affiliated with his brother and father in the automotive field. Roland enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Alaska, Newfoundland and other bases in the US. He returned to Berlin, joined the NH Army National Guard and attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and served a total of 27 years. He owned and operated Renys Service Station and Garage on Pleasant Street for many years, later was the Berlin Municipal Airport manager then worked for New England Security Services until his retirement. He served the City of Berlin on the Zoning Board and the Airport Authority. He found great pleasure later in life restoring his Model A Ford truck and attending auto shows. He also enjoyed photography. Roland was predeceased by his brother Gordon Arthur Lambert. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Pamela (Lambert) and Kirk Elias of Reno, Nevada, David and Andrea Lambert of Mendon, New York and Matthew and Brenda Lambert of Berlin, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Daniel and Jennifer Howard of Biddeford, Maine, Stacie Lambert of Berlin and Remy, Siobhan and Aurore Lambert of Mendon, New York. In addition, he is also survived by his nephews Kim G. Lambert of Milan, NH and Jeff and wife Terry Lambert of Meriden, NH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 101 Norway St., Berlin, NH, 03570. The family wishes to express their thanks to Drs. Keith Shute and Thomas Temme and with deep appreciation to the staff of St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home for their dedicated and compassionate care.
