Shirley A. Jackson

It is with sadness in our hearts that we report the passing of Shirley Ann Jackson, 81, of Berlin, on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. Shirley was born in Peru, NY on October 17, 1940 the daughter of the late Allen and Elsie (Burke) Fountain. She was raised in Peru, NY and was educated there, later moving to Plattsburg, NY until 1981. From 1981-1982 she lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Berlin in 1982. Shirley was a devoted wife and mother. For many years she worked as an office administrator at the local paper mill. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Parish, where she sang in the choir. Shirley loved being outdoors and loved horses, she was a barrel racer for many years. She gave of her time to numerous community events, was involved with the music boosters and was very generous with donations to charities.



Members of the family include her five sons: James Jackson Jr. and wife Karen of Cadyville NY; Anthony Jackson and significant other Erica Hoyt of Berlin, NH; Keith Jackson and wife Roxanne of Mesa, AZ, Cory Jackson and wife Allison of Berlin, NH, Daryl Jackson and significant other Austin Rhyne of St. Augustine, FL; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother Ricky Fountain; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband James D. Jackson, Sr.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant Street, Berlin. Interment will take place following cremation at the family’s convenience in the St. Augustine Cemetery, Peru, NY. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
