On March 17th, 2024 heaven gained an angel. Susan Huot Fournier was the best, the best everything: Wife, Mimi, Mother, Sister and Friend! Whatever you needed, she would be that for you…
Sue was born on November 2, 1953 in Berlin, NH. She was the only girl amongst four boys. Her mother was so happy she had finally gotten a girl! Sue was raised in Berlin, where she graduated from Berlin Senior High School in 1971. In her young adulthood, she worked at the Converse Shoe factory in Berlin, before obtaining her Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from the Berlin Technical College. She worked at Saint Kieran’s Rectory and volunteered with her mother in the VFW kitchen. She became a stay-at-home mom when she had 3 children, all under the age of 5. Her hands and heart were full! After her kids were in school full-time she became one of the most awesome lunch ladies Gorham Ed Fen and Gorham High School had ever seen. Eventually, Sue became the Head Chef of Androscoggin Valley Hospital. In 2011, she married her husband Steven Fournier, who loves her beyond measure and describes her as the kindest person he has ever met. Sue retired in 2017 and they spent every day together since.
Sue absolutely loved the beach, and she spent summers in Old Orchard Beach most of her whole life. It was her “happy place”. After retirement she and her husband became snowbirds and would winter over in Florida and spend summers in Old Orchard.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, she was taken way too soon. On March 17th, Sue passed away being surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness. Sue is now watching over us from heaven. Sue was adored by so many and she loved every single one of you in return. She will be truly and eternally missed. She has forever left her footprints in the sand. 👣
We will love you forever! ♥♥♥
Sue is predeceased by her parents Leo and Pauline Huot, her brother Paul Huot and her son Jaime.
