Theresa (Sullivan) Duquette, 95, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
She was born on March 9, 1924, in Mexico, Maine, to John and Helen (Robbins) Sullivan. She spent the majority of her 95 years in Berlin, New Hampshire, where she met and married her husband, Romeo 'Mayo' Duquette.
Theresa was an extremely hard worker who enjoyed keeping her home neat and tidy, yard work, mowing, and shoveling her driveway. She held a variety of jobs throughout her life, but mainly she worked at Granite State, the Town & Country Inn, and Brown Company/James River, from which she retired after many years.
After her retirement, Theresa busied herself with maintaining her home and helping to care for her beloved disabled granddaughter, Christine. She often said that her grandchildren were the reason that she made it to 95 years old.
Theresa is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Dion and her husband, Robert Dion, of Lecanto, Florida, and Shirley Leclerc of Berlin, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert Dion, Jr., of Evansville, Indiana, Christine Leclerc of Berlin, New Hampshire, and Brenda Letellier of Milan, New Hampshire, as well as her great grandchildren, Kristi Letellier and Ryan Letellier, and one great-great grandchild, Jacob Coy.
Theresa was widowed in 1973 when her husband, Romeo Duquette, passed away. She was also pre-deceased by her brother, John Sullivan, and by her four sisters: Helen Legassie, Dorothy Leveille, Margaret Connors, and Marion Sheets. She lost an infant son, Romeo Duquette, Jr., in 1944.
A funeral service is being planned for a future date at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, New Hampshire. Find the online guestbook at fleury-patry.com.
