Timothy J. Bruns

February 4, 1959 — June 2, 2024

Berlin

Timothy John “Tim” Bruns, 65, of Berlin, revved his Harley’s engine and rode away on his next adventure in the early morning hours of June 2nd, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Tim was surrounded by loved ones when he departed this life.

Tim was born on February 4th, 1959, the second son to the late Ralph “Buzzy” and Ernestine (Bennett) Bruns. Tim had a generous and fearless heart. When he was 17, he enlisted in the United States Army and went on to serve as a Military Police Officer, stationed in Germany for four years and then at Fort Riley in Kansas for two. When his years of service were over with the Army, Tim returned to the Berlin area and began working as a police officer. He served the city of Berlin in this capacity for almost 20 years, and the stories of his impact are still told countless years later. Afterwards, Tim pursued various jobs, all of which led him down the path that ended with him working as a propane technician and oil delivery driver for C.N. Brown Company. It was there that Tim found his passion and a work family he cared for deeply. He would talk about his work to anyone who would listen.

Above all, Tim’s greatest pride and joy were his three daughters, Jessie, Trista, and Ashley, although his motorcycle was not too far behind them. Tim was a devoted father and would do anything for his girls. Truth be told, Tim would drop anything he was doing to help just about anyone. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fixing things, and spending time with family and friends. It brought him great joy to tell jokes and make people laugh. Tim carried his sense of humor with him through every challenge he faced. He fought and defeated throat cancer in the spring of 2023, all the while smiling and joking as only Tim would.

Tim’s family includes his children Jessalynn Laflamme and husband Christopher of Berlin, NH, Trista Bruns and partner Justin Dickinson of Berlin, NH, and Ashley Bruns of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Cameron, Mason, and Leigha Laflamme; step-grandchild Beckett Dickinson; sisters Tammy Cloutier (Donald) of Berlin, NH, Vanessa Bruns-Totland (Robert) of AK, Kathy Vagle (Jeffrey) of PA, and Cindy LaBerge (Jeff) of VT; several nephews, a niece, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Bruns.

Services will be held at a later date, and the family hopes that you will come share a story or a joke if Tim has impacted your life in any way. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations in his memory may be made to the Northwoods Cancer Survivors, C/O 24 ½ Wood St., Berlin, NH, 03570 or to the Dartmouth Cancer Center North, 1080 Hospital Dr., St. Johnsbury, VT, 05819.
