Victor Shaink

Victor Shaink, 84, of Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Littleton Regional Hospital in Littleton. He was born in Quebec, Canada on August 24, 1929 the son of Augustin and Eugenie (Rousseau) Shaink and came to Berlin at an early age. He married Bibiane St. James on July 25, 1953. Victor had loaded wood for many years in the Great North Woods for Wilfred Carrier, Richard Sonny Morris, Richard Dick Turcotte and lastly for Milan Industries, retiring at age 62. He was known as the best crane operator in the woods. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish. Family includes his wife Bibiane Shaink of Berlin, NH; sons Richard Shaink and wife Susan of Canon City, CO and Michael Shaink of Gorham, NH; grandchildren Jason Shaink of Colorado Springs, CO, Joshua Shaink of Milliken,CO, Corina Shaink of Berlin, NH and Corey Shaink of Berlin, NH; brothers Romeo Shaink of Hinsdale, NH and Augustin Shaink of Monument, CO; half-sister Fernande Drouin of P.Q., Canada; sisters Irene Shaink of Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada and Gertrude Shaink Paquette of Compton, P.Q., Canada; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 27, 2014 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave. in Berlin. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9 to 10 AM, prior to the service.
