Vincent A. Ruel passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was 64 years old.
Born in Berlin on October 19, 1952 he was the son of Robert and Irene (Latulippe) Ruel. Vince was raised in Berlin and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1970. He was in the National Guard for six years and was employed as a Millwright at the Burgess Mill for 30 years until they closed. He then embarked on a new career as a corrections officer for the State of New Hampshire until his retirement.
Vince enjoyed camping with his family, spending time with his sons and spending time at his father-in-laws camp in Upton. He also enjoyed reading, martial arts and "get-a-ways" at Bar Harbor. He also picked up the hobby of jewelry making which he shared with all his family. A special joy in his life was the birth of his granddaughter Olivia, he loved taking trips out to TN to see her as often as he could, which was a highlight in his life.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Charles Boucher.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Elaine (Roy) Ruel of Berlin; two sons Joseph Ruel and wife Erica of TN, a son Timothy Ruel and fianc Heather Gibbons of Overseas; a granddaughter Olivia Ruel of TN; two sisters Janet Laroche and Margaret Boucher; two aunts Jeanne Ruel of Berlin and Lucille Ruel of Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may pay their respects to the family prior to the Mass on Saturday, June 30th from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow at St. Kierans Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
