Violet "Vi" L. Vien, 94, Berlin, passed away on Thursday January 30, 2020 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was born in Berlin on August 17, 1925 to Arthur and Delima (Levesque) Gagnon. She was raised in Berlin and went to Angel Guardian School. She married Sylvio Vien on July 17, 1946 at Angel Guardian Catholic Church.
Vi worked most of her life in the home, keeping house and raising her three children. She worked for a short time as a clerk at Woolworths and volunteered for over 15 years at Senior Meals and at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop. Her faith was very important to her; she was a devoted communicant at St. Annes Church. She enjoyed snowmobiling, spending time at the camp on Lake Umbagog, playing cards with her friends, and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband Sylvio "Sy" Vien, a sister Georgette Beaupre, and a brother Robert Gagnon, a son-in-law Ronald Turner. She is survived by two sons, Richard Vien and his wife Denise of Berlin, and Michael Vien and his wife Donna Dalamangas of Milan, a daughter, Louise Turner of Rochester, NH, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Monday February 10, 2020 at 1PM followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call prior to the Mass at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St, Berlin on Monday February 10, 2020 from 11-12:30. Those who wish may make a donation in memory of Violet L. Vien to Coos County Nursing Home, Activity Fund, 364 Cates Hill Rd, Berlin, NH 03570.
