Willard J. Turner, 90, of Berlin, passed away on May 23, 2024 at the Coos County Nursing Home after a period of declining health. He was born in Wentworth Location, NH on December 18, 1933, the son of the late Leslie and Grace (Linnell) Turner. Willard was a graduate of Berlin High School prior to settling in Milan, where he lived for over 60 years. He had been employed as a foreman in the wood room for the James River Corporation for many years prior to his retirement in 1989. Willard was a US Army veteran, having served from 1956-1958, and a member of the VFW White Mountain Post 2520.
Family includes his daughters Cynthia Chorette and husband Gailen of Berlin, and Donna Roy and husband Denis of Milan; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great- great-grandchildren; his sister Lois Hawkins of Milan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Greta Turner, his brother James Turner, and his sister Phyllis Olson.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 30, 2024 at 11 AM at the Milan United Methodist Church, 763 Milan Road, Milan, NH. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be held at the Wentworth Location Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Home of Berlin, NH.
