At Androscoggin Valley Crematory, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and respect to every family we serve. All cremation services are performed on-site by our team of highly trained and certified professionals, ensuring the utmost dignity for your loved one throughout the entire process. Our state-of-the-art crematorium allows us to offer personalized service options and pricing tailored to meet each family’s unique needs. From the moment you reach out to us until the completion of services, your loved one remains exclusively in our care.

In 2015, the Bryant family proudly established Androscoggin Valley Crematory, LLC at our Berlin location, equipped with advanced technology and facilities to support our commitment to unsurpassed level of professional care.

Since opening, we have performed over 2,900 cremations, always with the same dedication to care and respect. Our staff follows meticulous procedures to guarantee each individual is returned to their family properly.

Our facility and equipment are consistently monitored and maintained. Skilled technicians conduct regular inspections to ensure the crematorium is in optimal working order, with immediate repairs as needed. The crematorium’s manufacturer also provides remote support from their Florida operations center, diagnosing and adjusting the system as necessary to ensure every service is carried out smoothly and efficiently.

Our Certified Crematory Operators have undergone strict training to earn their certification and continue to meet ongoing education requirements. Access to our secure facility is strictly limited to these certified operators, ensuring the integrity of the process. Additionally, the crematory is under 24-hour video surveillance, providing an extra layer of security and accountability.

Cremation Standards of Care

Most importantly, your loved one NEVER leaves our care

We oversee the cremation process from the first notification of death until the cremated remains are returned to you or in their final resting place.

Safeguarding Personal Identity

We take the personal identity of every person entrusted to our care extremely seriously. As soon as a decedent is taken into our care, they receive a non-removable wrist bracelet (similar to one you would receive at a medical facility) to ensure the identity of the deceased is never compromised. Even if a decedent is well known to all the staff here, they receive a bracelet, no exceptions.

Checks and Balances

All necessary documentation and legal requirements must be verified before the decedent is transferred to the crematory.

  • Cremation Authorization form. This document must be signed by the next of kin or authorized agent.
  • Burial Transit Permit
  • NH Medical Examiners Release for Cremation
  • Verification that 48 hours have elapsed from the time of death. This is New Hampshire state law.

ID Disc

Once a decedent is transferred to the crematory, they are assigned a unique identification disc. This disc's unique number is labeled on the cremation paperwork and follows the decedent through every step of the cremation process. This number is also recorded in our cremation log book which is maintained in our permanent record.

After the Cremation

Once the cremation process is complete, the ID disc is attached to the cremated remains and placed in the urn chosen by the family. The cremated remains will then be returned to the funeral home for services or release to the family.

Honoring Life

We will be happy to assist you planning a funeral or memorial service (either before or after the cremation) that is suitably tailored to your loved one.
